Naperville Area Illinois Branch of AAUW |
|
Membership Membership is open to all graduates who hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university or who hold an associate or equivalent degree from a qualified institution. Current college or university students may apply for an affiliate member status, which gives them information and support at a reduced rate. Members come from various backgrounds and represent a range of occupations, ages, and interests. The members of AAUW use their education to promote education and equity for all women and girls. Monthly branch meetings are held generally in the evening from September through May, featuring programs relating to current topics of interest. There are also small groups that meet on a regular basis in members' homes. Membership dues include branch, Illinois, and national memberships. Members receive quarterly state and national publications. A monthly branch newsletter keeps members informed of activities throughout the year. If you are interested in joining our branch, please send us email, including your name, address, and phone number. In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability. Our branch was founded on April 20, 1956.
