We encourage our members to volunteer at DuPage Children's Museum where learning comes into play!TM

The Museum relies heavily on volunteer support and promotes an educational mission that we embrace. Their creative activities are multi-sensory, allow exploration at appropriate age and developmental levels, are interdisciplinary, inclusive and accessible to all and are directed by the child. It is a fun, safe and educational place for children and their caregivers.

Please contact Diane Ernst, Coordinator of Volunteers, for more information and/or for a free tour of the Museum. 630-637-8000 ext. 4680 or dernst@dupagechildrensmuseum.org

There are a great variety of available volunteer opportunities with flexible schedules: volunteering with the children, behind the scenes, one-time opportunities, short-term or longer term opportunities.

Exhibit Facilitators are needed especially weekdays to interact with the children and their caregivers in the exciting exhibit areas and to encourage learning through play. Greeters welcome visitors and provide information and maps. Art Studio volunteers work with staff to provide simple creative art programs. Administrative volunteers enter data and do general clerical projects. Hospitality volunteers help with volunteer and staff parties and some special events. Facilities volunteers help maintain the building and/or help staff build and repair exhibits. Volunteers with special skills such as photography, graphic design, sewing, storytelling, guitar playing and singing with young children are also needed.

RECYCLABLES Donations of wood are always needed to provide educational experiences for children in the Construction House. Please drop off wood outside the loading dock area. Other recyclable donations are accepted on a bi-monthly basis via drop-offs in the Museum lobby. Donations will be accepted on: April 12, 2008 from 9:00 - noon and June 7, 2008 from 2:00-5:00 pm.
