The scholarship is named after Angeline Gale, an educator and founder of our branch.  Each year since 1971, the Naperville Branch of AAUW has offered the ANGELINE GALE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP to a mature woman working toward completion of her bachelor's or graduate degree. 

The recipient of the year's $4,000 scholarship will reside or attend school in the Chicago or suburban area, and she will be a woman 28 years or older who will graduate within one and one half years.  Other factors considered include financial need, grade point average, and career plans.  The scholarship can be awarded to someone attending part-time and/or already  receiving financial aid as well as full-time non-funded students. 

This year’s application deadline is March 12, 2010.  The selection process will be completed by mid-April, and the funds made available by the beginning of the summer school semester or term.
