Nearly 3000 members across Illinois join, participate in, and benefit from membership in AAUW. There are 50 branches in various communities throughout Illinois.

Membership is open to women and men who hold an associate degree or equivalent, or a baccalaureate or higher degree from a qualified educational institution.

Branch membership maximizes opportunities for involvement through:

Types of Membership

• Branch:  Includes membership in National AAUW, AAUW-Illinois & a local branch.
• Individual:  Includes membership only in National AAUW. An individual member is not affiliated with AAUW-Illinois nor a local branch.
• State Individual: Includes membership in National AAUW and AAUW-Illinois. This member is not affiliated with any local branch.

Dues Amounts: July 2008 - June 2009

A dues year runs from July 1 - June 30.

Student Affiliate	17.00	3.00	Members who are college undergraduates at a two-or four-year regionally accredited educational institution
Individual (member-at-large)	49.00	0	Individual members do not belong to a branch nor to the AAUW-IL state organization; they belong only to national AAUW.
State Individual (state member-at- large)	49.00	10.00	State individuals belong to AAUW-IL and the national Association, but not to a local branch.
Paid Life Member	0	10.00	See note below for one-time payment. Member pays branch dues as well.
50-Year Honorary Member	waived	waived	Branch dues are waived as well.

Life Membership Note: By making a one-time payment of 20 times the annual dues amount, a paid life member does not pay the Association dues. Local branch and state dues will still apply. For 2008-2009, the one-time payment is $980.

Shape the Future Membership Program

• Anyone joining at an AAUW Shape the Future event joins at one-half cost for Association dues.
• For every two new members, a branch will receive one free membership.
• Branches may earn a maximum of three free memberships per year.

College and University Members
