Educational Foundation & Local Scholarships

AAUW's Educational Foundation (EF) provides funds to advance education, research & self-development of women and to foster equity & positive societal change.
To support the mission of the EF, the Lombard Area Branch raises funds for EF and local scholarships with an annual Used Book Sale. 60% of the sale proceeds is given to the national EF to fund grants, research, and other Foundation work. The remaining 40% is used to award scholarships to women in the Lombard area.
Our branch awards up to two "Return to Learning" scholarships -- scholarships to qualified women continuing higher education after a significant interruption:
- One awarded to a qualified woman pursuing a bachelor's degree
- One awarded to a qualified woman pursuing a graduate degree
