AAUW Facts
The American Association of University Women, the oldest women's organization in the United States, was founded in 1881. Currently there are over 100,000 members nationwide and 1300 branches. AAUW is a national organization that promotes equity for all women and girls, life-long education, and positive societal change.
AAUW is comprised of two corporations:
- Association
- Educational Foundation (which now includes the Legal Advocacy Fund)

Lombard Area Branch
Founded in 1959, the Lombard Area Branch has long served the communities of Lombard, Villa Park, and the surrounding areas.
Our members are committed to helping women and girls in their pursuit of higher education by providing scholarships to area women. AAUW offers you an opportunity: to meet like-minded people in our community - to further individual growth - to advance the status of women - to network extensively.
