Women business owners are a
growing and significant force in our economy, society and
culture. Thirty-five percent of small business owners
are women. Have you ever wondered
what draws these women to the business world?
How they chose their product or service or where to locate their
business? How do these businesswomen
give back to the community? Do they
look beyond product and service toward a larger goal or mission?
For the
September Supper program, we have assembled a panel of
distinguished women
business owners who will address these questions and tell about the
path each has followed. They will discuss their experience
in
business as well as their
motivations and goals, their successes and challenges. They will
also touch on the unique advantages
and opportunities associated with being business owners in Elmhurst.
Their comments will provide a wonderful opportunity to learn about the
entrepreneurial spirit that makes these women special.
In addition to our
panel, we will
have the occasion to get to know the women faculty of the Department of
Business and Economics at Elmhurst
College
as well as
several Chamber of Commerce members. This
is an event not to be missed and one that
affords us the
opportunity to forge stronger ties with the businesswomen in our own
community.
We sincerely hope that you will
be able to join us for this very special September Supper in welcoming Elmhurst women in business
and to demonstrate how vital and committed AAUW-Elmhurst is in reaching
out to
our sisters in the business world.
