Atrévete a Soñar ¡Edúcate! (Dare to Dream: Get Educated!) is a one-day conference for Latina middle school girls and subsequent follow up with placement in mentoring programs. The conference will be conducted annually. Latina middle school girls and their mothers and/or mentors will be invited to a Saturday conference on the Elmhurst College campus.  The conference will focus on the personal, professional and financial value of education in general and higher education in particular.
By bringing Latina middle school students and their mothers onto a college campus, Atrévete a Soñar ¡Edúcate! (Dare to Dream: Get Educated!) seeks to make an immediate, positive impact on the girls by empowering these young women to create an educational vision for their futures and then to start them on their way to making that vision a reality.
During the conference, attendees and their mothers will attend workshop sessions on various topics - Careers, Campus Life, Making Life Choices, Navigation the American School System.  Atrévete a Soñar: ¡Edúcate! is working aggressively with the DuPage Regional Office of Education as well as local school districts, and middle and high school principals, teachers, counselors and social workers to ensure continuing assistance and tracking through the year.
