"Pamper Me" party
for residents of Marah's House
Thursday, April 14th @ 6:00pm
Join us on Thursday, April 14th for a special community service project.
We will be hosting a "Pamper Me" party for residents of Marah's House at 6:00 p.m. The address is 1456 W. Oakdale.
We will have Mary Kay representatives there to do the pampering along with us.

Deborah's Place is Chicago's largest provider of supportive housing exclusively for women and
is recognized as an innovative leader among homeless service providers locally and nationally.
Since its founding in 1985, they have worked collaboratively with participants, offered a range of
high quality services and tried new approaches - putting Deborah's Place at the forefront of
agencies making a difference to those in need in Chicago.

GEMS conference
February or March, 2010
Chicago Branch
is planning its second GEMS-Great Experiences in Math and Science
workshop for February or March 2009 and are looking for volunteers to
help plan the event as well as work the day of the event. Please

GEMS is a
career conference for all middle school students in grades 6-8 and
their parents/guardians. Students will participate in the morning-long
program designed to encourage young girls to take an interest in math,
science and engineering. Professionals will be presenting their
careers emphasizing mathematics, science & technology. Although
women make up about 50 percent of the general work force in the U.S.,
they only represent 9 percent of workers in the science and engineering
community said the conference was started to inspire girls to continue
studies in the fields of math, science and technology.
Community Service Project
Wednesday, November 24th
Chicago Inc. branch members are encouraged to participate in a community service
project at Deborah's Place in honor of past life member and past Executive Director
of Deborah's Place, Patricia Crowley. Branch members and friends are invited to
help serve meals to homeless women on November 24th at 5:00 pm
at Marah's Permanent Housing, 145 W. Oakdale. They need up to 10 people to serve
dinner for 30 ladies. Please bring friends, spouses, older children to help serve the meal.

Can Food Drive
Chicago Branch is holding two can food drives to benefit the Common
Pantry in Chicago. The Common Pantry is devoted to providing food and
personal care items to qualifying individuals and families in the area.
The Common Pantry offers qualifying clients monthly allotments of
groceries, produce, canned goods, frozen foods and health and beauty
supplies at no cost.
