Hometown
Gourmet
This
group is made up of members and non-members who choose to dine at local restaurants
or one that is in a town near Bloomington-Normal. They
try to pick restaurants that are not chain restaurants.
AAUW-BN
Book Club

The
AAUW BN Book Club is an informal gathering that takes place each month on the
fourth Tuesday at 7:30pm. Several
of us take turns having the meeting at our homes and providing a bit of refreshment. Each summer we have a planning meeting
to decide which books to read over the coming year. Everyone is welcome to suggest titles—both fiction and
non-fiction. Almost all of the
books we select are available in paperback and/or at the local libraries. No expenditure is necessary to take part
in our discussions. We welcome
anyone who is interested, whether or not they have read that monthıs book.

Of special note for the Fall 2006 and Spring 2007
schedule was the AAUW BN Book Club "All
Branch Read-Out Project" in addition to ourregular Book Club schedule.
Judith Hansen and Book Club members selected three books for Branch Members
to choose from to read for the January 15, 2007 meeting where these books
will be discussed. We either bought or borrowed one of the books from one
of the local libraries to read it and then shared our thoughts about it over
dessert at Barnes & Nobles' Booksellers in Bloomington.
