AAUW Mission Statement
AAUW promotes equity for all women and girls, life-long education and positive societal change.
The AAUW Educational Foundation provides funds to advance education, research and self-development for women and to foster equity and positive society change.
The AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination.
AAUW, founded in 1881, is open to all graduates who hold the baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or class.
Batavia-Geneva-St. Charles Branch
The Batavia-Geneva-St. Charles Branch of AAUW was established in 1965. Since that time, our branch has dedicated itself to the Mission Statement of AAUW. We are members of the District 4 of AAUW-IL, Inc., the Great Lakes Region, the AAUW Association in Washington, D.C., and the International Federation of University Women.
We are proud of our history and of our diversity. We welcome active participation by our members to fulfill the goals of AAUW.
