Interest Groups

AWARE is the action arm of the Aurora Branch, encompassing the arenas of Public Policy, Equity, Diversity, and the Reality Store.

 

All branch members are invited to attend and contribute to the important work done by this action group.

 

Meeting Dates for the AWARE group as a whole will be the second Monday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  See the calendar for additional details.

REALITY STORE

Reality Store is a simulated economic experience for high school juniors studying careers.  Students earn ‘paychecks’ based on their chosen careers.  AAUW members and community volunteers provide guidance at stations for monthly expenditures such as rent, food, childcare, etc.  Students must manage their money in order to meet all necessary expenses within the limits of their ‘paychecks’.
